The husband of the cinematographer killed on the New Mexico set of “Rust” has reportedly hired a Los Angeles law firm that specializes in wrongful death suits.

Matthew Hutchins, whose wife Halyna Hutchins died in the film set mishap last month, has retained the work of the Panish Shea Boyle Ravipudi, the firm confirmed to TMZ and the Los Angeles Times.

The firm did not reveal if Matthew plans to file a suit, but sources told TMZ that the husband does intend to.

Halyna, 42, was shot in the torso by Baldwin, who was rehearsing a scene where he pointed the gun at the camera — thinking the gun was loaded with “dummies.”

The Oct. 21 incident also wounded director Joel Souza and prompted an investigation by local authorities, who have not filed criminal charges in the case.

Lawyers for the Western film’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, have told The New York Times that the gun that killed the cinematographer was left unattended for two hours before the fatal shooting and could have been tampered with.
