Britney Spears is on the road to freedom.
The “Lucky” crooner was spotted driving with her boyfriend Sam Asghari Sunday afternoon after she complained to a Los Angeles judge last month that she wasn’t allowed to cruise with him under her “abusive” conservatorship.
“All I want is to own my money and for this to end and for my boyfriend to be able to drive me in his f—ing car,” Spears, 39, told Judge Brenda Penny on June 23 during her explosive testimony on the legal arrangement that has ruled nearly every aspect of her life for the last 13 years, which will be back in court on Monday.
On Sunday, it looked like Spears got her wish, at least partially.
Asghari, 27, posted a video to his Instagram story that appears to show Spears in the driver’s seat and turning up the music as the couple jams out to “Lonely” — a song from the pop icon’s third studio album “Britney.”
The lyrics “Think of times you made me cry, you had me so confused, I’m tired of trying, I’ll leave behind this, what’s a girl to do?” can be heard in the video, which Spears appears to be singing along to.
The songstress’s face isn’t seen in the video but her hand, which shows red nail polish and a tiny triangle tattoo that Spears is known for, is shown turning up the dial.
The mega star has been begging the court to end the conservatorship she’s been under since 2008 because it’s “abusive,” exploitative and has prevented her from living the life she wants.
Spears told the court the arrangement has prevented her from marrying Asghari and from having children with him because she’s not allowed to remove a surgically implanted contraceptive.
Last week, the star won the right to hire her own counsel but is still under the control of her father James Spears.
