Celebrities from across the entertainment spectrum flocked to Bob Saget’s house Monday after the comic’s untimely death to support his wife, Kelly Rizzo, as she mourned.
Saget’s “Full House” co-star John Stamos embraced Rizzo at the front door of the couple’s home after exiting his car. Candace Cameron Bure was another of the iconic show’s mainstays who visited, and musician John Mayer and fellow comic Jeff Ross were also among those who showed up to pay their respects.
The “America’s Funniest Home Videos” host was found dead in his room at the Ritz-Carlton In Orlando, Fla. Sunday, where he had been on a stand-up comedy tour. No cause of death was revealed, and detectives with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department “found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case.”
Saget had spoken recently about battling COVID-19, saying he was unsure whether he’d had the Delta or Omicron variant, though he did not specify when he’d been diagnosed.
“Bob was my absolute everything,” Rizzo, 42, told Page Six on Monday. “I am so completely shattered and in disbelief. I am so deeply touched by the outpouring of love and tribute from our friends, family, his fans and his peers.”
Rizzo — the host of “Eat Travel Rock TV” — wed Saget in 2018.
“America’s Dad” is also survived by his adult children — Aubrey, 34, Lara, 32, and Jennifer, 29 — from his previous marriage to screenwriter and former attorney Sharri Kramer.
“Full House” series creator Jeff Franklin was among the figures from the show who signed and released a joint statement about Saget’s death Monday.
“Thirty-five years ago, we came together as a TV family, but we became a real family,” they wrote. “And now we grieve as a family.”
“We ask in Bob’s honor, hug the people you love. No one gave better hugs than Bob.”
