Huddersfield Town head to Coventry – actual Coventry, not Birmingham – for the first time since 1971 lookin to claim three points that would keep their faint automatic promotion hopes alive and guarantee that they can finish no lower than fourth in the table this season.
Those sides who finish third and fourth get the second leg of the play-offs on their own turf, which is generally seen as an advantage, particularly should the game go to extra time and penalties. A win would mean Town cannot be caught by any of the sides below them…and may see them make up ground on second-placed Bournemouth and overtake third-placed Nottingham Forest.
That’s not a bad position for Town to be in at all, though, and Carlos Corberan will be hoping to see his side play with confidence and focus against a Coventry City side that have proven to be very hard-working and hard to beat over the past couple of seasons with all three previous encounters under Corberan ending in draws.
