Amanda Holden has confessed she went on a rather risqué shopping spree to fill her wardrobe with latex dresses and thigh-high boots after turning 50 last year.

The actress, 51, revealed she ‘grabbed life by the balls’ while reaching the milestone birthday and tells the ‘sad’ people who criticise her for flashing the flesh to ‘bog off’.

In an interview with The Sun, she said: ‘When I hit 50 I invested in a pair of thigh-high boots and I thought, “THIS is how I’m going to live the second half of my life.”

‘I was never going to suddenly get out the twinset and pearls, unless I wore the twinset and pearls with a miniskirt and those thigh boots.

‘I would never listen to anybody who’s going to try to tell me how to behave or how I should dress. They can just bog off.’

Claiming she is planning on bringing latex to the upcoming Britain’s Got Talent live shows, the talent show judge is even challenging Davina McCall to follow in her footsteps.

Gushing about her fellow TV personality, 54, Amanda said she wants to see her pal’s ‘amazing body’ in ‘a bit of rubber’ in the next series of The Masked Singer.

The former singer also admitted her eldest daughter Lexi, 16, who she shares with her husband Chris Hughes, ‘loves loads of the stuff’ in her mum’s closet.

But she was quick to quip that the teenager wouldn’t be getting her hands on the thigh-high boots, before adding, ‘Not yet anyway.’

It comes after Amanda insisted she will not tone down her racy Britain’s Got Talent outfits which have sparked complaints from viewers in the past.

The radio DJ proclaimed she enjoys wearing latex at the auditions and said she doesn’t think anyone should feel pressure to ‘dress for your age’.

A plunging outfit Amanda wore during the 2017 semi-finals prompted 663 complaints to Ofcom from viewers while a gown she wore on the 2020 series drew another 235 complaints.

Not letting the naysayers get to her, Amanda told The Mirror: ‘I’m thinking more rubber – I enjoyed wearing latex in the auditions, so I’m thinking more latex, more sweating in the lives.’

Amanda previously laughed off viewer complaints about her fashion choices and said that her mother Judith adored her outfits.

She said: ‘Mum said “Ooh, let them talk. You look better than girls half your age.” When my mum was 48 she wouldn’t have dared wear a mini skirt, because she’s of the era where you wouldn’t dare get your knees out if you were nearly 50. Whereas I look at Kylie and J-Lo and think, well if she’s still doing it, I’m still doing it,” she said at the time.

‘Of course, I have fun on Britain’s Got Talent – it’s the perfect opportunity to take risks. Times have changed and I don’t feel anyone should feel pressure to dress for your age. It’s all about body positivity and feeling good.’

Joking about how much attention her breasts and racy ensembles get, Amanda previously quipped that they need their own representation and will be going on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories.

She told MailOnline: ‘I am seriously thinking my girls need separate representation to me, because they are known on their own. They don’t need me, they’re going to go off and do Piers Morgan’s Life Stories on their own next year!

‘They’re going to do their own album, they’re bringing out their own autobiography – The Truth Behind The Bra!’

The latest series of the ITV talent show is set to feature magic tricks, a person dressed as a dinosaur, dance troupes and musical performances that are sure to entertain.

A fun-filled teaser trailer was released on Thursday and saw a Simon Cowell impersonator take to the stage wearing a red fringed bodysuit in an act bound to leave the judge, 62, gobsmacked.

Elsewhere, David Walliams was seen looking squeamish as he took to the stage to assist a circus performer in pulling a heart shaped sword out of her throat.

The comedian, 50, also appeared to strip off on stage, taking off his shirt in front of an elderly woman, in a bizarre moment.

Other acts included a team of skateboarders performing stunts, singers belting their hearts out and gymnasts performing jaw-dropping routines.
