Golden State stars Draymond Green and Klay Thompson absolutely shredded McGruder Saturday night after the Detroit Pistons guard went over to the Warriors bench in an attempt to exchange words following the Warriors’ 118-91 win in San Francisco.

Thompson, who’s out for the season with a torn Achilles, took the first shot at McGruder while appearing on the NBC Bay Area broadcast when he was asked about what was happening.

“I don’t know. This dude might be out the league soon. He’s probably mad about that, who knows?” Thompson said. “Over here trying to start something like he’s a good player or something.”

Then it was Green’s turn. Green had already left the court but appeared to hear what Thompson said on television.

“I was in the locker room, but apparently he was taking up for Wayne Ellington? When the f–k did Rodney McGruder become the tough guy of the team?” Green said. “I don’t know man, everybody in the league tough these days. It’s crazy. I’ve seen a lot of tough guys this year. I don’t understand it — and don’t nobody do anything. Like, if you really wanted to do something, you could’ve done it. F–kin over there talking s–t like he’s the team tough guy. Get the hell out of here.”

Rodney McGruder walked over to the Warriors bench after the game so the broadcast team asked Klay Thompson what was going on:

Green said one of the Warriors said something to Ellington in the first half when McGruder wasn’t in the game.

“So apparently, Wayne Ellington must’ve went over to the bench — I guess he went and told Rodney McGruder because he hadn’t been in the game. Yeah, I don’t know man. There’s too many tough guys in this league these days for me. But I know ain’t nobody scared of no damn Rodney McGruder. F–king kidding me? It’s crazy. Insane. But Klay said it best.”

McGruder went undrafted out of Kansas State in 2013 and was a role player for the Heat from 2016-19 before spending last season with the Clippers.
